History
Las Leñas ski resort was opened up to the public in 1983. Due to its excellence not only has it been chosen to host World Cup competitions but is a favorite training place for the ski national teams of Switzerland, USA, Italy and Austria.

Location
Las Leñas is in the Malargüe department, province of Mendoza, right in the heart of the Andean mountains.
How to get there
By car
The journey by car from Buenos Aires takes about eleven hours. You should take Ruta Nacional 7 (National Route) up to Junín (in the province of Mendoza); then Route 188 up to General Alvear, then Route 143 up to San Rafael, then Route 144 up to El Sosneado and finally Route 122 up to Las Leñas, 20 km./ 12 miles past Los Molles.
By plane
To get to Malargüe airport (70 km. /43 miles from Las Leñas) from Buenos Aires, Jorge Newbery airport, you can take a non stop flight that is about 90 minutes long. The transfer service or bus to Las Leñas takes one more hour to get there.
The international regular flights from Europe, USA and South America stop at Buenos Aires and there they connect to San Rafael or Malargüe. Once there transfer services or buses take you to Las Leñas.
